Die Pro-Division in den Kategorien Open, Women und Mixed ist den absoluten Top-Spielenden aus Deutschland und der Welt vorbehalten. Sie kann bei allen Turnieren der German Roundnet Tour (GRT) angeboten werden und ermöglicht es, sich auf höchstem Niveau miteinander zu messen. Um hier mitspielen zu dürfen, ist eine vorherige Qualifikation Pflicht.
Nach der Einführung zur Saison 2022 gab es für die 2023er Saison Anpassungen, die hier im entsprechenden News-Beitrag nochmal im Detail nachgelesen werden können. Zur Saison 2024 wurde die Weitergabe der Pro-Quali-Status eingeführt.

Für welche Turniere gibt es die Pro-Division?

Die Pro-Division kann bei allen GRT-Turnieren von den Organisierenden in allen Kategorien (Women, Open, Mixed) angeboten werden und muss mindestens aus acht Teams bestehen. Bei den Masters-Turnieren der GRT wird eine Pro-Division obligatorisch angeboten.

Sollte eine Pro-Division mit mindestens acht Teams nicht zustande kommen, werden diese mit der Contender Division zu einer Contender/Pro Division zusammengelegt. Die Pro-Teams werden dabei auf die Größe der Contender-Division draufgerechnet, d. h. die Pro-Teams behalten ihren Platz und nehmen dabei der Contender-Division keine Plätze weg.

Die Qualifikation zur Pro-Division über Turniere der German Roundnet Tour

Die Qualifikation orientiert sich an den erreichten Platzierungen bei GRT Turniere in den Open, Women- und Mixed-Konkurrenzen. Die Platzierungen, die sich für die Pro-Division qualifizieren, passen sich der Divisiongröße an. Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Nachfrage wurden für Open/Mixed- und Women-Konkurrenzen unterschiedliche Rahmengrößen definiert (s. Tabelle). Berücksichtigt wird nur die Contender/Pro bzw. Contender-Division, wenn gleichzeitig eine Pro-Division angeboten wird.

Bei erfolgreicher Qualifikation wird dem Spielenden-Profil auf der RG Playerzone automatisch der Pro-Status (schwarzer Badge) zugeteilt. Eine Übersicht aller aktuell Pro-Qualifizierten gibt es hier auf der RG Playerzone.

Weitergabe der Quali-Plätze

Der Status wird aber für jedes Team auf einem eigentlich zur Qualifikation berechtigenden Platz, das aus Spieler:innen besteht, die den Status alle schon haben, um einen Platz nach unten weitergegeben, allerdings maximal um zwei Plätze. Ein geteilter Platz berechtigt nicht zur Qualifikation (bspw. nicht gespieltes Spiel um Platz 3).

Ein Team aus den Top 2 hat den Status bereits komplett, daher wird um einen Platz weitergegeben. Team 3 ist aber auch bereits qualifiziert, es erhält also nur der*die nicht qualifizierte Spieler*in aus Team 2 den Status neu.

B)
Women Contender/Pro, 14 Teams:

Team 1, beide bereits qualifiziert
Team 2, beide bereits qualifiziert

Beide Teams aus den Top 2 haben den Status bereits komplett, daher wird der Pro-Status um zwei Plätze weitergegeben. Es erhalten also eine Spielerin aus Team 3 und beide aus Team 4 den Status neu.

C)
Women Contender/Pro, 14 Teams:

Team 1, beide bereits qualifiziert

Das erste nicht qualifizierte Team befindet sich auf Platz 5. Da der Status allerdings maximal zwei Plätze weitergegeben wird, qualifiziert sich niemand neu.

Internationale Qualifikation für den Pro-Status

Sofern eine Person bei einem internationalen Turnier eine Leistung erbringt, die den Qualifikationskriterien für einen in Deutschland erworbenen Pro-Status ähnlich ist, kann diese Person ebenfalls den Pro-Status verliehen bekommen. Dabei zählen die Kategorien Open (Men), Women und Mixed. Die Anerkennung des Status kann innerhalb von 12 Monaten nach der erreichten Turnierleistung geschehen. Der erlangte Pro-Status wird daraufhin nach den regulär geltenden Qualifizierungskriterien für einen bestehenden Pro-Status für die nächsten Jahre erneut vergeben oder aberkannt.

Folgende Platzierungen sind internationale Qualifikationsvoraussetzung:

Top 4-Platzierung bei der Europameisterschaft (höchste Division)
Top 4-Platzierung bei einem EURA Grand Slam/European Tour Series (höchste Division)
Top 4-Platzierung bei einem STS Event (weltweit – höchste Division)

Eine Anerkennung des Pro-Status durch eine internationale Qualifikation, muss zwingend individuell per Mail beim Referat Turnierbetrieb (turnier@roundnetgermany.de) angefragt werden. Die Mail muss einen Verweis auf das entsprechende Turnierergebnis und den vollständigen Namen der Person beinhalten.

Die Qualifikation zur Pro-Division über den RG Index (RGX)

Als dritte Option sind alle Spielenden in der Pro-Division spielberechtigt, die zum Zeitpunkt der Turnieranmeldung einen RGX-Wert von 1.615 Punkten oder höher haben.

Kategoriespezifische Zuordnung des Pro-Status

Sofern eine Person sowohl in der Women- als auch in der Open-Kategorie spielt, muss sie sich separat den Pro-Status in beiden Kategorien erspielen. Die Qualifikationskriterien für die jeweilige Kategorie bleiben gleich wie zuvor beschrieben.

Für die Mixed-Kategorie wird weiterhin der Pro-Status Voraussetzung sein, den die Person in ihrer “Hauptkategorie” (entsprechend ihres Geschlechts) erreicht hat – also Women (weiblich) und Open (männlich, divers). Entsprechend erspielt man sich über die Pro-Qualifikation auch den Pro-Status in der jeweiligen Kategorie.

Beispiel: Angenommen, eine Frau hat den Pro-Status in der Women-Kategorie erreicht. In diesem Fall kann sie sich sowohl für die Women- als auch für die Mixed-Kategorie in der Pro-Division anmelden. Falls sie jedoch in der Open-Kategorie spielen möchte, muss sie sich hier separat für den Pro-Status qualifizieren.

Anmeldung zur Pro-Division

Maßgeblich ist der Status der Spielenden im Moment der Turnieranmeldung. Sollte also nach der initialen Anmeldung noch ein Partner*innentausch notwendig werden, zählt für die/den neu ins Team kommende Spieler*in der RGX-Score zum Zeitpunkt des Tauschs.

Meldet sich ein Team also beispielsweise im Contender an und erspielt sich bis zum Turnierbeginn über ein anderes Turnier den Pro-Status, tritt es in diesem Turnier noch einmal in der Contender-Division an.

Nur wenn beide Spielenden für die Pro-Division qualifiziert sind, ist eine Anmeldung dort möglich. Ein Team bestehend aus zwei Pro-Spielenden darf sich nicht im Contender anmelden, sofern gleichzeitig eine Pro-Division angeboten wird.

Wollen ein*e Contender+ Pro-Spieler*in zusammen spielen, dürfen sie dies nur im Contender tun.

Ablehnen des Pro-Status

Spielende haben bei einmaliger Pro-Qualifikation ein Mal die Möglichkeit, den Pro-Status mit einem Antrag beim Turnier-Referat (turnier@roundnetgermany.de) abzulehnen, falls sie der Meinung sind, dass die Qualifikation nicht ihrer Leistungsstarke entspricht.
Die Ablehnung ist nur solange möglich, bis die Spieler*innen die Pro-Qualifikation innerhalb von zwölf Monaten ein zweites Mal erreicht haben.

Beispiel: Erspielt sich ein*e Spieler*in den Pro-Status, lehnt diesen sofort ab, aber erspielt ihn sich innerhalb von 12 Monaten erneut, kann keine Ablehnung mehr erfolgen.

The Pro Division in the categories Open, Women and Mixed is reserved for the absolute top players from Germany and the world. It can be offered at all tournaments of the German Roundnet Tour (GRT) and makes it possible to compete with each other at the highest level. To be allowed to play here, prior qualification is mandatory.

After the introduction for the 2022 season, there have been changes for the 2023 season, which can be read in detail in this news article. For 2024 the rules for Passing on the qualification were introduced.

For which tournaments is the Pro-Division available?

The Pro-Division can be offered at all GRT tournaments by the organizers in all categories (women, open, mixed) and must consist of at least eight teams. At the Masters tournaments of the GRT a Pro-Division is offered obligatorily.

If a Pro Division with a minimum of eight teams does not materialize, they will be combined with the Contender Division to form an Contender/Pro Division. The Pro-Teams will be added to the size of the Contender Division, i.e. the Pro-Teams will keep their place and will not take away any places from the Contender Division.

Qualification for the Pro-Division via tournaments of the German Roundnet Tour

The qualification is based on the achieved placements at GRT tournaments in the open, women’s and mixed competitions. The placements that qualify for the Pro Division are adjusted to the division size. Due to different demand, different frame sizes have been defined for Open/Mixed and Women’s competitions (see table). Only the Contender/Pro or Contender division is considered if a Pro division is offered at the same time.

If players on the qualifying places already have the Pro status, no further teams on the following places (e.g. 5th place) will move up.

If the qualification is successful, the Pro status (black badge) is automatically assigned to the player’s profile on the RG Playerzone. An overview of all Pro-qualified teams can be found in a list at the RG Playerzone.

Passing on the qualifying places

The status is passed down one place for each team in a place that is actually entitled to qualify and consists of players who all already have the status, but by a maximum of two places. A shared place does not authorize qualification (e.g. unplayed match for 3rd place).

One team from the top 2 already has the status completely, so one place is passed on. However, team 3 is also already qualified, so only the unqualified player from team 2 receives the new status.

Both teams from the top 2 already have full status, so the Pro status will be moved up two places. This means that one player from team 3 and both from team 4 will receive the status again.

The first team not to qualify is in 5th place, but as the status is passed on by a maximum of two places, no one will qualify again.

International qualification for pro status

If a person achieves a performance at an international tournament that is similar to the qualification criteria for pro status acquired in Germany, this person can also be awarded with the pro status. The categories Open (Men), Women and Mixed count. The status can be recognized within 12 months of the tournament performance achieved. The pro status achieved will then be re-awarded or revoked for the following years in accordance with the regular qualification criteria for an existing pro status.

The following placings are international qualification requirements:

Top 4 placement at the European Championship (highest division).
Top 4 finish at a EURA Grand Slam/European Tour Series (highest division)
Top 4 finish at an STS event (worldwide – highest division)

Recognition of pro status through an international qualification must always be requested individually by e-mail from the Tournament Operations Department (turnier@roundnetgermany.de). The e-mail must contain a reference to the corresponding tournament result and the full name of the person.

Qualification to the Pro-Division via the RG Index (RGX)

As a third option, all players are eligible to play in the Pro Division who have an RGX score of 1,615 points or higher at the time of tournament registration.

Qualification to the Pro-Division via the RG Index (RGX)

If a person plays in both the Women’s and Open categories, they must earn Pro status in both categories separately. The qualification criteria for the respective category remain the same as described above.

For the mixed category, the pro status that the person has achieved in their „main category“ (according to their gender) – i.e. Women (female) and Open (male, diverse) – will continue to be a requirement. Accordingly, you also earn Pro status in the respective category by qualifying as a Pro.

Example: Suppose a woman has achieved pro status in the women’s category. In this case, she can register for both the Women’s and Mixed categories in the Pro division. However, if she wishes to play in the Open category, she must qualify separately for Pro status.

Registration for the Pro-Division

The status of the players at the moment of tournament registration is decisive. If it is necessary to swap partners after the initial registration, the RGX score at the time of the swap will count for the new player joining the team.

For example, if a team registers in Contender and earns Pro status in another tournament before the tournament starts, it will compete in the Contender division again in this tournament.

Only if both players are qualified for the Pro-Division, it is possible to register there. A team consisting of two Pro players may not register in Contender if a Pro division is offered at the same time.

If an Contender + Pro player want to play together, they may only do so in Contender.

Declining the Pro status

Players who have qualified for Pro once have the possibility to reject the Pro status once by submitting an application to the Tournament Department (turnier@roundnetgermany.de) if they are of the opinion that the qualification does not correspond to their performance level.

The rejection is only possible until the players have reached the Pro qualification a second time within twelve months. For example, if a player earns Pro status and rejects it immediately, but earns it again within 12 months, they can no longer be rejected.
